A WOMAN died in a suspected hit-and-run accident in Anglers Rod last night at about 8.20pm.
According to an eye-witness, a taxi ploughed into the woman riding her scooter near LAC Centre, Meerensee.
It is believed the driver then drove off.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the female lying on the road. Tragically she died due to the extensive injuries that she sustained.

That “woman” was a wonderful single mother of 2 and a friend. This is so sad!
Don’t you think it is insensitive to put these photos online as This women had two children , the youngest does not deserve to see her mother in these photos like this. I really think you should think before you post things like this.

This all because some taxi driver probably baught his license again, we cant all afford cars and are forced to ride scooters and they just push us off the road, hope this one is found and put up for murder
I would like to see a follow up article on the police investigation regarding the taxi driver?
I would imagine a manslaughter case would be opened.
This is so sad. I feel for her family. I drive a scooter and let me tell you taxis do not care. They treat you as if you are not supposed to be on the road. The fact that he drove off should then constitute as murder.RIP.

Well first off…. the driver did not leave the scene …. he did stop about 30m from the accident due to most probably speeding ….. people on scene handed driver over to saps . This is one place where they can put speed humps
