Domestic and international tourists will be targeted.

To give it more impetus, celebrities such as eSikhaleni-born actress Jessica Nkosi, Phindile Gwala, Jabulani Shandu, Ankela, Amenisto and 1 KZN TV presenter Dumo Cebekhulu were drafted in to spearhead the campaign.

Tourism product owners and interested stakeholders shared ideas during the gala dinner.

uThungulu District Mayor Thembeka Mchunu addressed stakeholders on the importance of tourism as an economic driver.

‘Our region is rich in culture. We need to ensure that people around South Africa know about the excellent and diverse tourism opportunities we offer.

‘We need to work together and try to change our communities by creating a right platform for small and big businesses,’ said Mchunu.
