Tractor driver dies in accident
A tractor driver died after rolling his vehicle down an embankment.
A TRACTOR driver died after veering off the R34 down an embankment into the bush en route to Empangeni yesterday.
According to an eyewitness the driver moved over into the emergency lane, near Qalakabusha Correctional Services, to allow a truck to pass, but lost control of the tractor.
It rolled down the embankment and landing on top of him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

This happend right infront of us we were the car behind the tactor, as it tried moving away for a blady truck that could not wait 2 mins till the intersection as the driver of the Tractor made way to the emergency lane his tractor started slipping, he tried jumping and did but the tractor rolled onto him, My self and Nico went down when the smoke just got to bad so we had to wait again stil the smoke was gone – As a paramedic I could see there was nothing they could do for the poor man. The only bad thing is we waited 50min for emergency services to arrive on seen. This was reall not impressive
The front / steering tyres on this tractor look very smooth; I’d imagine it could be difficult to control direction…
