What happened to Kobus?

Family searching for answers after 37-year-old man is hospitalised.

AFTER leaving work on Friday 29 August in good health and high spirits, Kobus van Rensburg (37) arrived at his place of employment on Monday morning slurring his words and appearing disoriented.

He became progressively worse and his employer at Richards Bay Crane Hire took him to a doctor in Richards Bay.

It was determined that he may have suffered a minor stroke but there were also head and bodily injuries suggesting a fall or even an assault.

He was subsequently taken to Ngwelezana Hospital and then transferred to Albert Luthuli, where he underwent treatment in theatre for brain swelling and remains in intensive care.

Colleagues are anxious to hear from any person who may have seen Kobus on Saturday or Sunday.
