MORE than 40 000 maidens took part in the 30th reed dance ceremony, ‘Umkhosi woMhlanga’, at the Royal Nkoyeni Palace in Nongoma on Friday.
At the celebration King Goodwill Zwelithini addressed issues such as last year’s bus accident which saw nine maidens and two guardians killed near eShowe, his land claim and the upgrading of the facilities at the Nkoyeni Palace.
Tourists from Asia, Europe and America attended the three-day ceremony.

I honestly think that a reed dance is one of the symbol that make a person unique from others when it come to who is able to behave her self and who is able to wait for the right time to be given a key. so it all about behaving yourself and not allowing boys to run your life.
