Another ‘wall and all’ crash
Gerrie Smit had an unexpected, early morning visitor at his home.
NOT for the first time, an out-of-control car that hurtled through a perimeter wall in the early hours gave a huge scare to the house occupants.
The latest incident happened in Keiserskroon, Veldenvlei at about 1am on Saturday, when a young man behind the wheel of fast car failed to negotiate a bend in the road and ploughed through the pre-fab wall and into the yard.
Besides causing major damage to the car he was driving, pieces of the wall slabs also smashed into a vehicle parked in the yard.
‘We woke with a fright, thinking we were being burgled,’ said a female occupant.
‘Fortunately the young man was not badly injured.’
Don’t like the ‘wall and all’ thing, don’t know if Dave was trying to be funny but please bear in mind a life was lost in an incident similar to this one.
