Road rage on the rise in SA

VIDEO: Cyclists hitting the car driver with a bicycle wheel

THE Road Traffic Management Corporation said road rage is on the rise in SA.

This comes after a motorist shot and killed a biker in Gauteng on Valentine’s Day and a group of cyclists assaulted a panel-van driver in the Cape.
With the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Momentum Cycle Tour just days away, the incident has sparked outrage on social media and in the cycling fraternity.

The video, showing the cyclists hitting the car driver with a bicycle wheel, went viral on the internet and sparked outrage among motorists and cyclists.

Road Traffic Management Corporation’s Gilberto Martins said inconsiderate and impatient road users are a major contributing factor to road accidents.

‘More and more, the impatience of people on our roads is leading to these incidents that are happening and certainly creating many fatalities.’
Here in Zululand, the inconsiderate behaviour of road users is a ticking bomb.
