Kick-start for modern Mandeni mall
Construction on the Mandeni Mall is due to be completed in September next year
ANOTHER retail outlet in southern Zululand is being built in Mandeni as part of the KwaZulu-Natal Northern Growth Corridor
The official sod-turning ceremony took place at the site, off the Mandeni main road, on Monday.
The construction of the new 12 257m² Mandeni Mall is due to be completed in late September next year.
Officials from the Mandeni municipality, the Deon Thompson family, Mandeni Business Forum, amaKhosi, councillors and the Ingonyama Trust, witnessed the sod-turning of the R110-million development.
‘This marks the beginning of many other developments and is not only going to benefit the community of Mandeni, but also surrounding municipalities,’ Mandeni Mayor Siphesihle Zulu said
According to Jason McCormick, Managing Director of McCormick Property Development (MPD), the Mandeni Mall promises to contribute to the upliftment of the central business district (CBD), while also assisting the local municipality’s objective of creating investment and growth opportunities in the growth corrider between Durban and Richards Bay.
‘Approximately 450 workers will be employed for the construction period and an additional 450 permanent jobs will be created for positions in the mall after construction.
‘Mandeni Mall will bring a new level of design and elegance to the area, with a modern layout that includes an external food court and will host 35 tenants such as Shoprite, Capitec Bank, Roots, Mr Price, Sheet Street, Jet, Rage, KFC and Nizams, to name but a few.’
I’m a subcontructor . I’ll like to know what they need if you want to sub under the job that is in a progress now.And who is in a position of employing subies/subcontructors.
