MY STORY: ‘I almost gave my baby away’

‘I kept being engulfed by the feeling of wanting to take my life and I almost gave my baby away.

‘The past seven years of my life has been filled with much sadness, hurt, loneliness and no desire to live whatsoever.’

This is the story of a Zululand woman who described how living with depression has been an uphill battle.

‘In 2013 I was diagnosed with major depression. I was admitted to a hospital where I was carefully monitored.’

She says in 2014 she discovered she was expecting her first child.
