A special message from President Jacob Zuma

Speaking to the Zululand Observer this afternoon, President Jacob Zuma thanked the voters of the uThungulu Region for taking the trouble to exercise their votes. The IEC reported to President Zuma during a brief stopover at the Richards Bay Civic Centre where he praised IEC officials for their part in promoting democracy. By 3pm, 137 000 out of 478 000 registered voters in the uThungulu region had cast their ballots.
