A WELL-KNOWN metered taxi driver in eShowe, Hector Everlyn Swales (79) was shot and killed in what is believed to be a hijacking.
Swales was found lying next to the road in the Ncemaneni area, between eShowe and Nkwalini, at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 20 January.
He had sustained several gunshot wounds.
Ambulance services attended to him on the scene, but he was declared dead on the scene.
His motor vehicle was later recovered by the SAPS in the uMlalazi area.
