Giving back to the community

Mhlathuze Water donated 101 school uniforms to Queen Nandi Primary School.

AS part of their Corporate Social Investment (CSI) programme, Mhlathuze Water donated 101 school uniforms to Queen Nandi Primary School.

The project was set in motion when the school requested the utility’s assistance.

‘Our core function is water provision to communities, but there are other needs that need to be addressed as well and supporting education is one of them,’ said Acting Chief Executive for Mhlathuze Water, Swaswa Ntlhoro.

‘As much as we’re here doing the donation, we must thank the board for ensuring we had the funds to carry it out.’

The donations included shirts, shoes, jerseys, trousers and skirts for pupils from Grades 1 to 5.

This was not the first time the school has joined hands with Mhlathuze Water.

In 2013 Mhlathuze Water built ablution facilities at the school, acting as the implementing agent for the Department of Education to tackle the backlog in providing basic sanitation at rural schools.
