Emkhayideni Technical’s Ziphokuhle headed for bigger things

Heading for the skies

FOR Ziphokuhle Manqele (18) of Mzingazi Reserve, outside Richards Bay only the sky can be the limit.

Ziphokuhle scored a whopping six As in her 2015 matric results.

Speaking to Zululand Observer, elated Ziphokuhle said she wants to study chemical engineering, at either the Durban University of Technology, or the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

She acquired distinctions in Zulu, English, life orientation, life sciences, physical sciences, geography and a B in mathematics.

‘I’m grateful to my teachers for the support they gave me during my years at Emkhayideni Technical. I also thank my mother and grandmother for the love and care they provided for me at home. Without all their love and support, I wouldn’t have achieved this much.

‘I promise to work very hard at university, so I can achieve even bigger things in my young life,’ Ziphokuhle enthused.

School Principal NA Ntshangase said she is happy with the 78% pass rate for Emkhayideni class of 2015.

‘Out of 134 pupils who wrote their matric last year, 38 passed with B, 44 with D, and 22 with an H. The 29 who didn’t do well have registered to write their supplementary exams this year,’ Ntshangase said.
