A senior Eskom technician has confirmed that a cable fault has caused a power outage affecting most of Empangeni and Ngwelezane.

Lights went out throughout the City at 9pm today (Saturday).

‘An earth wire snapped and fell on top of some of our conductors,’ he said.

‘Technicians are busy conducting an inspection to determine the extent of the damage.’

He was confident the problem would be sorted shortly.
