Going manic for organic

Zululand community members sell their organic fruit and vegetables at the annual Agricultural Market Day

AMPLE fresh, organic and colourful produce adorned the tables in the white marquee tent in front of the Richards Bay Civic Centre today.

The annual Agricultural Market Day showcases a wide variety of locally produced fruit and vegetables from rural farmers across Zululand.

Community members can shop to stock up their fridges while supporting the region’s hardworking agriculturists today and tomorrow (Saturday).

This market takes place in September every year under the joint support of the City of uMhlathuze Municipality and uThungulu District Municipality, after providing the vendors with training in organic farming, tools to plant and harvest their vegetables and arranged for them to trade their produce.
