19 people including four children having been killed after the taxi they were travelling in overturned
EMERGENCY services confirmed 19 people have died and four more were critically injured after a crash involving a taxi and a truck on the R28 in Vereeniging in Gauteng.
This according to ER24 who posted an article on their website earlier this afternoon.
According to ER24 the taxi rolled multiple times before bursting into flames.
The passengers were ejected and the scene was described as ‘chaos’ shortly after paramedics arrived to find bodies strewn on the road.
It is believed four children were killed in the crash.
Early reports suggested the taxi lost control causing it to collide with the truck.
The road has been closed to allow investigators to comb the scene, and motorists are urged to find alternative routes.
