YOUNG achievers were rewarded for their hard work both in the class and on the sport field at the Felixton Collegeprize-giving.
2015 Headboy Murray Louw, who walked away with a haul of trophies and awards, addressed the audience with a riveting speech about the impact the school has made on him and others.
‘This is the home we have always loved, and these are the people we will never forget,’ said Murray.
‘Although the Leopard might not always be on our chests, it will forever be in our hearts.’
‘This ‘Felixton Family’ idea is more than just a marketing theme. Among us it comes to life. Family never ends.’
Murray received an award for academic excellence.
More awards went to… Kirsty Motzouris (Kommer Esprit de Corps for College Spirit), Ali Taqvi (2nd in Grade 12, the Neves Leadership Trophy) and Hannah Bevis (Zoe Williams Art Final Practical Trophy, Paul Daffon Award and the Tres Burns All-Round Cricketer Award, Jury Family Service to Sport and the Guy Brown Top Sports Achiever Award)
Grade 10 pupil Tristan Fernandes was awarded the Most Promising Hockey Player and the Thomson Junior High Sports Personality of the Year award, while Mnqobi Ngubane received the Wilson Hockey Player of the Year, Senior Athlete of the Year and the Empangeni Garden Clinic Senior Sports Personality of the Year awards
Murray Louw achieved an aggregate of over 80% in eight subjects and walked away with a number of trophies, including the Bayside Trophy (Top Achiever in Physical Science) and the AP Maths Book Prize, among many others
