UPDATE: Progress slow on Ntambanana road
Last year the Zululand Observer reported that work to rebuild the road would begin in earnest early this year.
PROGRESS on the upgrading of the Ntambanana road is halting and painfully slow, says an Empangeni resident who does not wish to be named.
Last year the Zululand Observer reported that work to rebuild the road would begin in earnest early this year.
The resident lamented the lack of progress, saying the road was still treacherous to travel, especially through to Heatonville.
‘Every time it rains the road becomes horrible,’ he said.
‘I travel the road regularly and I have seen how the contractor works, but then stops for a while, and then will work again.’
According to previous reports, work on the road should be completed by early 2016.
The work involves resurfacing the road from Ntambanana to Heatonville as well as widening the entire road to 11 metres.
