POLICE have arrested a 12-year-old primary school pupil in eSikhawini after he was found in possession of an unlicensed 9mm pistol with live rounds of ammunition.
This according to KZN police spokesperson Major Thulani Zwane.
‘Upon questioning, the pupil told police that the firearm belonged to his father,’ said Zwane.
‘The father was traced and also arrested.’
15 other suspects were also arrested over the weekend in the uThungulu area, as part of a crime crackdown by police.
According to Zwane, the other suspects were arrested on charges relating to murder, possession of housebreaking instruments, theft of a vehicle, possession of drugs, dealing in liquor, possession of property suspected to be stolen and attempted rape.
