THE large number of potholes decorating the roads of Empangeni are receiving well-deserved attention from the municipality.
This after numerous complaints were lodged by residents who did not only have to dodge the potholes, but also reported damage to their vehicles.
A crew of workers took to Main Road in Empangeni last week, filling in some of the potholes between the Five Ways Mall and Central Park Shopping Centre intersections.
Potholes further along Main Road were filled with sand.
‘The City has a programme in place to patch all the potholes,’ said City spokesperson, Mdu Ncalane.
‘We have a machine dedicated to do the work. We encourage people to continue reporting potholes.
‘We also liaise with the provincial roads department to attend to roads that fall within their jurisdiction.’
