Richards Bay podiatrist scoops excellence award
Zululand podiatrist, Gina Meduric honoured for diabetic work.
LOCAL podiatrist Gina Meduric has been awarded the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology’s (CDE) Clinical Excellence Award in podiatry.
The 29-year-old established her private practice in Meerensee in 2010 and took an interest in diabetes soon after.
Residing in Empangeni, Meduric hails from Gingindlovu and studied podiatry at the University of Johannesburg.
‘The podiatry profession is often misunderstood, but our focus is treating any conditions relating to the lower limb and foot, however I have a special interest in diabetes and wound care.
‘I enjoy learning new skills and maintain that one should never stop learning and that there is always room for improvement.
‘I believe that being a compassionate person fits well in my profession and I take a keen interest not only in my patients’ feet, but also in their lives.
‘I enjoy outdoor activities such as fishing, dancing and pilates to strike a balance from being in an office most of the day,’ she said.
