Forum for positive values launched

Forum aims to combat fraud and abuse of power

THE KwaZulu-Natal office of the Premier, uThungulu District municipality and other community forums launched a Moral Regeneration Movement (MRM) at the uMhlathuze municipal auditorium in Richards Bay on Tuesday.

The movement aims to rebuild positive values among communities members and political leaders.

uThungulu district Mayor Thembeka Mchunu encouraged communities to involve themselves in combatting immorality, fraud and the abuse of power amongst leaders.

‘The movement wants to enhance, coordinate and integrate positive moral initiatives to create greater impact and effectiveness in society. It is time we educate our children on positive values and strengthen the fight against social ills and moral decay,’ said Mchunu.

‘This campaign needs to be advertised. We need to be talking about it and make sure we always have the message in our hearts and minds,’ said SABC representative Reverend Prince Zulu.

‘We must come together to fight injustice and immorality.’
