IT is almost Movember – the time of the year when men grow and groom their moustaches for 30 days in the name of men’s health issues including prostate and testicular cancer.
This year, the Movember campaign in South Africa will also be on men’s mental health as well as tackling physical inactivity with the MOVE initiative.
The challenge is to get active and move everyday of Movember month – 30 moves in 30 days.
Whether you decide on shaping an Abrakadabra, Rock Star or Trucker stash, here are some firm rules from the SA Study blokes:
- On Shadowe’en (October 31st), the complete moustache region, including the entire upper lip and the handlebar zones, must be completely shaved.
- For the entire duration of Movember, no hair shall be allowed to grow in the goatee zone – being any facial area below the bottom lip.
- There is to be no joining of the moustache to sideburns.
- Failure to conform to all of these rules may, at the discretion of a Movember Committee, result in instant blacklisting and may void invitation to end of Month festivities.
- Movember Committees accept no responsibility for lost jobs, rashes, food/beer encrustments or any other such mishaps caused to the wearer of a Movember Moustache. You grew it yourself.
