Coaching clinic held at SA Bodyboarding Champs

VIDEO: The Pro, Juniors and Mens quarters-finals are on at Alkantstrand today.

DAY 3 of the Nissan Zululand SA Bodyboarding Champs 2015 was a bit of a lay day for competitors as small surf and strong onshore winds caused an early halt to proceedings.

It was still a successful day with beautiful weather conditions in the morning and a few second round heats run and finalists decided in the Boys, Ladies, Grandmasters and Dropknee divisions and quarter-finalists decided in the Mens Division.

Locals doing well on Day 3 were brother and sister pairing Alex and Robyn Nutt both made their respective finals; Rheinhard du Toit making the final in the Dropknee Divison and Mens Round 2 standouts Jonathon Bernon, Claudde Coetzer, Giovann Muller, Stef Coetzee and Neil Steenkamp who all made it through to the quarter-finals.

Highlight of the day was the Development coaching clinic that took place on the beach at lunch time. The uMhlathuze Tourism Association hosted kids from a local school to come and learn about the sport and get some tips and skills. They were also treated to a cap from Nissan and lunch from Spur. A big shout out to all involved in making this happen and to the riders who helped with the clinic.

Competition is currently on with the Pro, Juniors and Mens quarters-finals.

All the Divisons finals will take place tomorrow (Friday) with the prize giving being held on Friday evening.
