THE Democratic Alliance KwaZulu-Natal leader, Councillor Zwakele Mncwango lead a march to the Pongola Mayor’s office calling for the removal of ANC Ward 11 Councillor Luke Nxumalo today.
Residents and councillors including DA Constituency Head for Zululand East, Hlanganani Gumbi MPL marched on the offices calling for Mayor Cllr Mashiya Hadebe to fire Cllr Nxumalo.
It is believed Nxumalo was found guilty of stealing from the municipality in April this year.
‘Cllr Nxumalo was found guilty of stealing municipal resources in April this year and was sentenced to four years imprisonment or a fine of R20 000,’ said Cllr Gumbi.
