THE Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) lost its Ward 8 seat in the uMlalazi Municipality to the ANC, but managed to hold onto their seat in Ulundi’s Ward 13 in Wednesday’s municipal by-elections.
In uMlalazi, Wiseman Phiwayinkosi Mzimela won the seat for the ANC with 50.55% of the 2 526 votes cast.
In Ulundi Lindelani Yaka won the seat with 57.42% of the 2 341 votes cast.
The voter turnouts were 58.56% in uMlalazi and 55.65% in Ulundi.
