THE KwaDukuza Municipality’s Crime Prevention Unit has received the thumbs up following the arrest of eight suspected drug dealer in five hours.
Mayor Ricardo Mthembu has applauded the unit for the arrests following random cordon and search operations.
The men were found in possession of dagga after a swoop which covered the area from Groutville to KwaDukuza Taxi Rank last Thursday.
‘We have enough capacity in our unit and we remain confident that further arrests are eminent with more such operations,’ Mthembu said.
On Sunday a man was arrested by the unit after being found with 115 straws of Sugars, a mixture of residual cocaine and heroin.
Mthembu said law enforcement agencies must strengthen their relationships in the fight against crime, working together with communities.
