UPDATE: Fairbreeze mining agreement on the cards
The MRA will host a special general meeting and public meeting to discuss the committee’s intention to finalise an agreement with Tronox.

THE Mtunzini Residents Association (MRA) hopes to reach consensus with Tronox KZN as the company prepares to start operations of its Fairbreeze Mine south of the town.
After years of locking horns, the MRA will host a special general meeting and public meeting to discuss the committee’s intention to finalise an agreement with Tronox.
‘The objective of this agreement is to regulate the relationship between Mtunzini (represented by the MRA) and Tronox in relation to the Fairbreeze Mining Project set to start in the coming months,’ the association said in a statement.
‘A copy of the full agreement and annexures will be made available to members and residents well in advance of the meeting.
‘A document setting out the main features and objectives of the agreement and the way in which Tronox and the MRA plan to achieve these objectives, will also be circulated by the MRA prior to the meeting.’
Mtunzini residents are invited to attend the meeting at 6pm on Monday, 12 October, at the Mtunzini Primary School hall.
