Thanda match postponed to noon today
The match between Thanda and Baroka FC will be battled out at noon today after rain stopped play.
THREE days of heavy rain in Richards Bay saw NFD Match Commissioner, Enoch Molefe declare the uMhlathuze Stadium surface too waterlogged and dangerous for football on Saturday.
The sight of the playing surface in places totally under water would have warmed the hearts of the groundsman, but for the hardy local fans who braved the elements to be there, this was a major disappointment.
Shortly before the scheduled 3pm kick-off, Molefe announced the game had been postponed until 12 noon today – if the ground passes a pitch inspection at 9am.
This has been confirmed and the fixture between Thanda and Baroka FC will go ahead – so there is plenty of time to get down to the grounds if you want to watch.
Perhaps the delay is a good omen: Amabhubesi are hoping to break their win drought after three consecutive drawn games.
