Woman attacked by scissor-wielding burglar

House robber assaults Arboretum resident.

AN Arboretum woman got the shock of her life when a man suddenly appeared in her bedroom at 2.30pm on Tuesday.

The robber, estimated to be in his early 20s, threatened the resident with kitchen scissors, demanding her laptop and cell phone.

When she tried to escape, he grabbed hold of and attacked the victim.

‘She sustained an open wound and bruises on both her arms,’ said Richards Bay SAPS spokesperson Captain Debbie Ferreira.

The suspect fled on foot with a laptop and two cell phones.

A case of house robbery was opened.

‘We believe he gained entry by breaking a padlock to the house’s sliding door,’ said Captain Ferreira.
