Here is the winner of the Women on Wheels Car of the Year
Female drivers choose a surprising winner.
IN sharp contrast to the stereotypical perception of a ‘girly’ car, the Women on Wheels (WOW) Car of the Year for 2015 is Volvo’s distinctly macho new XC90 SUV.
After combining thousands of votes from female readers with the votes of the judges – all women, of course – the big Swede walked away with the top score in the large SUV category as well as the overall title.
The new XC90 struck a chord both with the judges and women drivers in general with its comfort, perceived quality, the uncluttered, almost simplistic layout of the controls, the intuitive touchscreen and Volvo’s reputation for, and preoccupation, with the safety of the people who drive (and are driven) in its cars.
