There’s a new band in town

Enjoy the fine tunes of NXTM every week in Richards Bay.

AN up-and-coming Afro-soul group is bringing new flavour to the music industry.

Founded last year, members Nsiki Ntuli, Xolani Ndimande, Thulani Masinga and Mfundo Mbuyisa make up the four-piece band that is NXTM.

The Zululand group thinks big, determined to make their way to the top – even ending up on international stages.

Their talent was recognised when they claimed first place in the music category of the International Talent Showcase held at the Boardwalk Inkwazi Shopping Cetre in Richards Bay.

The band includes an ensemble of keys, guitar, jembe, and vocals.

According to Manager Pholani Ntuli, the band has their ‘own take on African soul’ music. They believe that the variety and originality in their music will appeal to a wider audience.

Having garnered local recognition, NXTM plans on taking their music to the Silver Star Casino in Johannesburg next month in the hopes of performing at the International Arts Convention in Orlando Florida next year.

Pop star Celeste Ntuli, who plays Sphokazi in the hit TV show Isibaya, kindly donated some instruments to the young musicians last year to give them the startup they needed to move on to bigger things..

Catch NXTM live in action at the Protea Hotel every Wednesday afternoon from 5pm to 8pm.
