Bevis the all-rounder

Felixton College all-rounder Hannah Amy Bevis is the Super Sport Let's Play Champ for August.

FELIXTON College all-rounder Hannah Amy Bevis is the Super Sport Let’s Play Champ for August.

The matric pupil excels in academics, cricket, hockey, soccer and athletics.

She is as fit as a fiddle and has exceptional hand-eye co-ordination, which is her secret to success.

The 17-year-old boasts an impressive sporting resume, which includes KZN U13 Outdoor cricket in 2010, KZN U16 and U19 Outdoor cricket in 2011, KZN U19 Outdoor cricket in 2012, SA U16 Indoor cricket in 2012, KZN U19 and Open Ladies Indoor cricket 2013, KZN U15 Boys KZN North Indoor Cricket 2013, Best Cricketer and Sportsman of the Year 2013 at Felixton College, SA U19 Indoor Cricket 2014, Victrix Ludorum for athletics in 2014 and 2015 and KZNCD Ladies Hockey Side in 2015.

The highlight of Bevis’s sporting career was representing her country in New Zealand at the U19 Indoor Cricket World Cup last year, where the team ended last unfortunately.

Bevis will study Sports Science at the University of Stellenbosch next year.

When not busy following her fitness programmes or training on the sports field, she can be found relaxing on her bed listening to the latest ‘jams’.

Her friends and family motivate her to live up to her full potential and perform when she can.

When setting goals Hannah always looks to push the limits.

She aims at getting As for all her subjects and qualifying annually for the KZN hockey team and the SA team for indoor cricket.

Always competitive and up for the challenge is what Hannah is about, but when it comes to frogs it is her Achilles’ heel.

‘One thing that I have learned over the years is that one must never think you deserve something, as nothing will be handed to you.

‘My biggest asset is my fitness, with speed and hand-eye coordination being my strengths, but regaining focus is my weakness.’

Bevis stands out on the sports field, no matter what code it is.
