THE 16th annual Nashua Zululand Squash League came to an end for the first and second league players on Tuesday evening, after the final rounds were played and prize-giving was held at the Empangeni Country Club.
Empangeni Rugby Club claimed the victory and bragging rights in the first league with 132 points, with Empangeni Country Club claiming the second league crown on 169 points.
The popular league which was contested from 12 May to 1 September, saw a total of 27 teams competing over four leagues.
The third and fourth leagues’ final rounds and prize-giving was held yesterday (Wednesday) evening at the Empangeni Country Club.
Final results
First league – Empangeni Rugby Club 132 points, 2 Empangeni Country Club 131, Richards Bay Country Club 87 and Veldenvlei 64.
Second league – Empangeni Country Club 169 points, 2 uMfolozi 134, Richards Bay Country Club 130 and 4 eShowe 124.
