Hartley wins B final in Milan

Olympic bronze medallist bounced back and powered her way to victory in the B Final in a time of 1:52:461.

RICHARDS Bay paddler Bridgitte Hartley made amends at the 2015 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships in Milan on Saturday.

After not qualifying for the women’s 500m K1 A Final, the Bay’s Olympic bronze medallist bounced back and powered her way to victory in the B Final in a time of 1:52:461.

Hartley’s time would have seen her just miss out on the podium in the highly competitive main final, which saw New Zealander Lisa Carrington taking gold.

Hartley unfortunately ended fourth in the first semi-final of the women’s 200m K1 with a time of 42:596 which pushed her into the C finals of this event.
