ANCYL congratulates SASCO on winning Unizulu SRC elections

Unizulu students have unanimously chosen the SA Students Congress to lead the SRC

THE KZN ANC Youth League (ANCYL) has welcomed the landslide victory recorded by the South African Students Congress (SASCO) in the SRC elections at the University of Zululand.

The elections, held on Monday, saw masses of students who voted for SASCO celebrating throughout the Dlangezwa campus after their conquest.

‘Victory by SASCO marks the decisive break with the past which has been dominated by political parties like the IFP and NFP at this institution.

‘The results of these SRC elections indicate in no uncertain terms the growing confidence of students to the Progressive Youth Alliance and its leadership.

‘To us as the ANCYL this victory amounts to an unparalleled birthday gift as we celebrate our 69th anniversary this year.’

The ANCYL further slated Unizulu Rector and Vice-Chancellor Prof Fikile Mazibuko for her attempts to shut down all political activism at the university.

‘These attempts by Prof Mazibuko should be understood for what they are- which is to frustrate the progressive agenda of the liberation of students,’ said ANCYL.

‘As SASCO we want to pass our gratitude to all students of Unizulu for coming out in numbers and trusting us with their vote to handle their matters as the new SRC,’ said the SASCO Chairperson Sandile Sibiya.

  1. I applied at unizulu for Bachelor of art in arts and culture in 2009. And I registered and studied from 2010 until 2012 but when I graduate this year I found out the my degree is written Bacholor of arts. They didn’t specify what department. We need help. All student who graduated for BA (arts and culture) this year has the very same issue. This Degree is useless, they should have specified the department like they did last years.
