Are you ready for the Zini Bush Challenge?

Participants have the option of a 16km run/walk, 10km run/walk and a 5km fun run.

THIS year’s Mtunzini Bush Challenge on Sunday, 9 August, promises to please all with its amazing spirit.

Good music, steaming hot coffee, ‘mbawula’ fires, Zululand hospitality and, hopefully, pristine Zululand winter weather, will greet runners, walkers and fun runners.

The seventh Seacom Mtunzini Bush Challenge starts at 7am at the Mtunzini Town Hall.

Participants have the option of a 16km run/walk, 10km run/walk and a 5km fun run.

As runners line up for the start, they will be heralded with the cries of the Fish Eagle before the Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife official fires the starter pistol. The route goes through the burgeoning Zini River Estate, beautiful cool forest trails, over sand dunes and onto the pristine beach.

Wildlife and birdlife abound.

Some off-road trail is thrown in to keep things interesting.

The 5km route takes participants through parts of the golf course and indigenous forest.

Although the course is tough in parts, the beauty of the natural surrounds makes it all worthwhile.

The coveted Mtunzini Bush Challenge T-shirt goes to the first 450 runners / walkers completing the 16km route, and the bushbuck medal goes to the 10km finishers.

Fun runners also receive medals while the children will also receive sweets.

Enjoy the day with family and friends.

Delicious food and drinks will be on sale.

The day ends with the prize giving and fantastic spot-prizes to the envy of many.
