Children held at gunpoint in Arboretum home

The robbers tied up six adults and four children in a Richards Bay flat.

THREE gun-wielding robbers entered an Arboretum flat at around 10pm on Saturday night while a family and friends were enjoying a card game night.

The robbers tied up the six adults and put dirty cloths in their mouths before going upstairs and doing the same to the four children, threatening to shoot them if they made a sound.

According to a family member of one of the victims, one robber hit a 10-year-old child on his head with the butt of his gun and told him they were all going to die that night.

Within five minutes the robbers left with cellphones, cash and electronic goods.

They reportedly escaped through the greenbelt behind the flat.

None of the victims sustained serious injuries.

Police arrived at the scene within minutes.

A case of house break-in was opened at the Richards Bay SAPS.
