Business gems sparkle at Regional Awards
The cream of the business crop sparkled at the Zululand Businesswomen's Association Regional Achievers Awards
DIAMONDS glittered on Thursday night when local businesswomen were honoured for their achievements during the Zululand Businesswomen’s Association’s Regional Achievers Awards at the Umfolozi Casino Resort.
Sponsored by Old Mutual and Sasol, the sparkling affair celebrated Zululand women’s unique ability to develop themselves and their businesses.
Winners on the night included Tanya Girvin, who topped the Social category, Anita van Tonder in the Emerging Entrepreneur category, Liza Gresse in the Entrepreneur category, Dr Natasha Thumbarin in the Professional category and Judith Nzimande in the Corporate category.
Guest speaker Totsie Mamela inspired the women with her talk on ‘hand-me-down dreams’, encouraging businesswomen to excel today using tools passed on from previous generations.
‘When you teach a woman, you teach a community,’ said Mamela.
‘Our families willingly or unwillingly construct our path.’
