THE body of a 38-year-old physically disabled woman was discovered more than seven hours after she was apparently crushed by her own car in the driveway of an Empangeni home on Wednesday morning.
Concerned colleagues found Ntombi Sibiya’s body trapped between her car and a wall at 2pm when they went to the house after she failed to report for duty and all calls to her cell phone went unanswered.
It is believed that the incident must have occurred at about 7am since Sibiya, who lives in a flat on the property, texted a friend that she was on her way to work at the time.
The exact circumstances leading to her death could not be confirmed at the time of going to print. Paramedics and police arrived at the scene soon after being notified by Sibiya’s colleagues, but the body could not be moved until police photographers, who only arrived at about 4.50pm, had photographed the scene.
