UPDATE: Taxi driver to appear in court

The public taxi driver who ploughed into two traffic officials is expected to appear in court this week.

THE taxi driver, who reportedly knocked over two traffic officials earlier this month, will appear again in the Richards Bay Magistrate Court this Friday, 24 July.

He was granted R1 000 bail two weeks ago, after the matter was remanded for further investigation.
The 42-year-old eSikhaleni man was arrested and charged with reckless and negligent driving, and for not having a valid public drivers permit.

The incident took place at the Alton robots on 3 July.

One traffic officer sustained minor injuries while the second official was hospitalised.
