Reviving Zululand’s Zulu dancing competitions

A private wildlife reserve near Hluhluwe recently hosted the first of its annual Zulu dancing competitions in which 300 dancers from surrounding communities participated.

This dancer really got into the moment and appeared to thoroughly enjoy it

Much fun was had by all who participated

All outfits within each group was identical, and part of what the groups were judged on

Tin cans and cut-off tin tops were this group’s musical accompaniment

All the ladies’ were fantastically dressed in bright colour and accessories

Well known men’s singing group the Zulu Messengers wowed the crowd

A heartfelt performance on family values

A variety of boys groups rounded off the event
