AN Mpembeni Primary School teacher on trial for the murder of his wife appeared briefly in the Richards Bay Regional Court on Tuesday where the matter was postponed for legal representation.

Sethembiso Mathenjwa (43) is accused of murdering his wife Mary Jane, an Mzingazi Primary School teacher an,d defeating the ends of justice in September last year.

THE trial of an Mpembeni Primary School teacher charged with his wife’s murder will be heard in the Richards Bay Regional Court.

Sethembiso Mathenjwa (43) made a brief appearance in the Richards Bay Magistrate’s Court on Friday and the matter was postponed to 3 December for a trial date to be determined.

The accused is charged with murdering his partner Mary Jane and defeating the ends of justice by lying about the date of her disappearance in September last year.

Mary Jane, then a teacher at Mzingazi Primary School, went missing on 12 September and her remains were found in the boot of her burnt out vehicle in Shayamoya Reserve in Sokhulu a month after her disappearance.
