Beauty and brains a winning mix
Richards Bay real estate consultant, Gugu Motha (30) in the running for Mrs Zululand title.
CAREER woman by day, a beauty queen by night – meet Mrs Zululand 2015 finalist Gugu Motha (30), a beautiful, bubbly young woman who wears many hats.
She is from the heart of Middelburg in Mpumalanga and now permanently settled in Richards Bay.
Motha is an estate agent consultant, a wife and a mother.
Her dream is to empower young women through education. Being a top academic achiever who holds an Information Technology and Management-Programming Degree from the University of South Africa (Unisa), she believes education is the only key to success.
Her aspiration to make a difference comes from when she was involved in a USAID programme called Girl’s Ambassador’s Scholarship Programme (GASP). It aimed at creating opportunities for young girls and equip them with education.
‘I became a mother to 64 children, and was blessed with a chance to make a difference,’ said Motha. She now dreams of starting her own organisation that will help young women.
She recent scooped third place for top units sold during the KZN Awards, and received an Achiever’s Status Award.
Motha is one of 13 beauty finalists to battle for the Mrs Zululand title in October.
The pageant showcases married, divorced and widowed women.
