THE Nhlangenyuke family of the eMachwebaneni area outside Mtunzini is still grappling to come to terms with the murder of their son who was shot in eSikhaleni on Saturday night.
Mondli Zibani (22) was brutally killed during a hijacking that went wrong at the Total garage at 9pm.
According to witnesses, three gunmen approached a group of young men in a Toyota Yaris and demanded the keys.
The driver threw the car keys into the bushes and fled the scene leaving the others inside the car.
The hijackers shot Zibani in his upper body while he sat in the car. He died a few minutes later.
His family said the young man was a loving and gentle person.
Esikhaleni SAPS spokesperson Lt Thembinkosi Mkhumane confirmed the murder and said no arrests have been made.
