MFEKAYI Reserve Mtubatuba resident was stabbed to death on 30 August at 7pm for failing to give the suspect a cigarette.
It was reported that the deceased was approached by the suspect and asked for a cigarette. The deceased was not in possession of a cigarette and when he failed to meet the demands of the suspect, he was consequently stabbed once in the chest and died on the scene.
The matter was reported to the police, and they were helped by the local community of Mfekayi Reserve who provided them with information that led to the whereabouts of the suspect; the latter was later arrested at his home.
A case of murder was opened for investigation against the twenty-two year old suspect and he is to appear before the KwaMsane magistrates Court this week.
