LIFE seems to have taken a new turn for Nkimi Ngema (68), the firewood collector usually sighted on the John Ross Parkway pushing his fully-loaded firewood cart.
Nkimi has already escaped death twice; when he was first hit by a passing vehicle while pushing his firewood cart in 2012, and again in November last year.
After plying his trade using a shopping trolley for months, Multilayer Trading (MLT) Empangeni came to his rescue when they built him a spanking new firewood cart – which has become a popular sight in the area again.
