Infighting affects service delivery – IFP
IFP says the City uMhlathuze reshuffling will cause major service delivery delays
THE Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) says the power struggle within the City of uMhlathuze may have a negative impact on service delivery.
These were sentiments of IFP uThungulu District Chairperson Thamsanqa Ntuli during the party’s assembly at the New Hall in eSikhaleni last Saturday.
The IFP said the sudden reshuffling of officials and political interference within the municipality will affect development in the area.
The concerns arose after City Mayor Elphas Mbatha was axed from his post.
‘When people are divided in a structure, it causes major interruptions,’ said Ntuli
‘Residents will not only suffer the consequences, but the council disruption will affect the City’s progress and service delivery to the people,’
Ntuli also said political squabbles should not incite violence within communities, and encouraged peace in the area.
‘Unity is important between us all. We must always work together to ensure safe communities,’ he said
