Company prioritises rural education

Tronox KZN Sands builds classrooms and a science centre for Mevamhlophe High School.

KZN Sands to place emphasis on social development projects by investing in local rural schools.

This was announced at a stakeholders meeting held on Friday at Tronox KZN Sands’ Central Processing Complex.

Aimed at grooming prospective engineers and scientists, Tronox has built four classrooms at Mevamhlophe High School to address capacity issues at the school, one of which will be used as a laboratory with a mobile science kit.

In addition, the corporate has sponsored six uThungulu high schools with fully equipped mobile science laboratories, as well as two multi-purpose centres each at a cost of R1.8-million – at Ogagawini and KwaMkhwanazi.
