Mobile charge office hits the road

The mobile charge unit will be stationed at various areas according to a roster.

KWAMSANE police officers can better serve surrounding communities thanks to a mobile charge office that was recently unveiled.

Owing to the vast expanses of rural areas within KwaMsane SAPS’ jurisdiction, police officers sometimes have to travel up to an hour to attend a crime scene.

Unsatisfied communities were complaining that their safety and security needs were not being appropriately met.

KwaMsane SAPS, together with the communities, submitted numerous applications for satellite police stations, particularly at KwaMtholo which is out of the way, and Mfekayi which has a high prevalence of crime.

The provincial officer’s answer was the mobile charge unit which will be stationed at various areas according to a roster.

The communities of Machibini, Gunjaneni, Mfekayi, Gwabalanda, Somkhele, and Madwaleni will benefit from the mobile charge unit which will be based in each area one day a week.

When serving Mfekayi, it will spend the day at Zamimpilo market, when serving Madwaleni, it will be based at Madwaleni Clinic and while at Gwabalanda, the secondary school will be the unit’s base.

Gunjaneni and Somkhele clinics will share the mobile unit on one day, while Machibini Clinic and Manqele Store will share the unit the following day.
